My 2025 PA buck harvest happened quick this year got him on my 2nd sit of the season. He was working a bench just above a creek chomping on acorns with a doe. He dropped down into the creek bottom and was working his way to me when I let one fly into his neck dropping him instantly.

Wow did you aim at the neck. I used to be deadly but never considered a neck shot with a bow. Gun yes, but not a bow. Beauty of a buck congratulations.....jk

Very nice buck.

The risky part of a neck shot on a deer with a bow compared with a firearm is the noise of the string reaches the ear of the deer before the arrow gets there. A deer can duck or spin around in a fraction of a second. Every once in a while they don't react at all like this one here.
A deer shot with a gun has a hole in it before it ever hears the bang.
Does that mean that I would never take that shot? No. Would I feel sick if it didn't pan out because he spun on me when he heard the string? Yep.
