Nice thick, New England style - Mom made a great one, on secret saving the clam broth to cook the potatoes in!

Rhode Island style is my favorite. Add a can of tomato soup to New England style. That's in a big pot not per serving. wink

No tomatoes !!!

I was surprised to find that Outback Steakhouse actually makes a fantastic clam chowder. No tomatoes but lots of other veggies. It wasn’t white but kinda tan in color .

New England, but the best recipe I know of came from Seattle (the only good thing I know of from Seattle). Google Duke's Clam Chowder.

I like New England clam chowder. I've only ever had Campbell's, Progresso and Aldi's. I'm sure the home made stuff is much better. I don't think I've had clam chowder for at least a couple of years. I forgot about it. We don't commonly buy canned soup. It might have been a couple of years since we bought canned soup .
