I was one that got a flu shot yearly until Covid. I never got the Covid vaccine and will never again get a flu or similar shot. I have lost all trust in the CDC and Big pharma.

I eat good and exercise. I still get sick occasionally but usually over it in a couple days.

Squash, sorry to hear about your wife. I hope she makes a full recovery. I had gotten a flu shot most years and very rarely got sick. Last year I didn't think about it and didn't get it, never got sick. I don't plan on getting one this year either. Along with most on here I'm getting to be more skeptical of the CDC and big pharma.

I got the J&J covid shot in April of 2021 because the government was threatening you couldn't fly without it (we travel for vacations quite a bit) and employers were pushing it or threatening jobs if you didn't get it. I have a family history of heart problems and it may not be related but I have had more chest pains in the last 2 to 3 years along with shortness of breath that it does make me wonder if it's related. As everyone knows J&J's covid shot is known as the clot shot after it was out for quite awhile. Couple that with lying Fauci and the CDC admitting to making up guidelines and false claims about covid it's hard to have faith in them. I also have 3 friends that are paramedics or EMTs that don't recommend getting a covid shot. Everyone has to make their own decisions but for me I'll never get a booster shot or a covid vaccination again.

You can get Guillen-Bare' from any viral illness, not just vaccine.

True, but it was the flu shot that caused it for my wife. 3 days after the vaccine her legs were weak, 6 days later she could not walk.

Covid hoax???? You don't know somebody who died from Covid? I'm surprised. I personally found my next door elderly neighbor on the floor dead from Covid and its complications.

I'm rather surprised that anybody old enough to have witnessed the polio epidemic to be an "anti-vax" or in denial about the importance of good science in keeping us all safer.

Many vaxed died from covid that is a fact, far too many.

However the covid vax did little to nothing to prevent it, prevent the transmission or successfully treat the virus post exposure. The CDC and WHO were pushing the need for the vax and how effective it was touted to be. We learned many real science facts along the way post covid, to be the contrary to what we were all told via the media.

Those that survived that strain will have anti bodies for a while for some immune resistance to future strains.

I don't know anyone who died of covid, however I know of three relatives of friends of mine who died of covid. The two things they all had in common is that they were all over 70 years old, and they had all been vaccinated. So much for the fake "vaccine' stopping you from getting or dying from covid.
BTW, I believe in real vaccines.

I only knew one person who died of Covid. Early 60s, healthy as a horse for his age, unvaxxed. I also know 2 people, unvaxxed, over age 70 that got Covid and are just fine today.

That's why I say there really is no common consensus on this. People just need to guess (because guessing is all it is at this point) for themselves.... be it covid or flu vaccines....

I didn't see anything in Bob's post calling Covid a hoax, nor anything suggesting denial of good science. You would have to be in denial not to have noticed some very poor science being spread during the Covid mess. That is not to say Covid itself was a hoax.

I’m surprised after time has passed and the truth has came out that anyone believes it wasn’t a hoax!! Was covid real absolutely. Was it blown a million times out of proportion absolutely! A chest cold for most folks

Sorry to hear about your wife, Squash. GBS is a horrible deal. My best pal got a rare type of it from the Covid jab. He was in ICU for weeks. He isn't the same 4 years later. I have had weak lungs my whole life, and when ever I got the flu it would end up in pneumonia more often than not. I started getting a flu shot each fall about 25 years ago and it helped me greatly. I know healthy guys that died from the flu....H1N1 I believe. The one guy was a healthy avid trapper. He went from feeling normal to ICU in about 4 days. He never came home. I got the flu jab this fall, like usual, but since Covid, and since my buddy got GBS, I do a lot more thinking on it before I go ahead with it. Good luck with your Bride's battle, Squash.

Two of my good friends died from the COVID. Both of them ridiculed me for getting the vaccine to the point I ended up avoiding them. I had the last laugh because I am still here and they are six feet under.

Right after I retired from law enforcement and Covid hit l was staying away from most public interactions, all my remaining court cases were continued indefinitely.
Since l was still involved in some aspects with work l had to take the covid shots, plus planning a trip to Montana made it mandatory to get the shots.
I got all three as required and swore l would never take another one. The only shots l have had since was a Shingles vaccine and a tetanus shot when l had cervical spine surgery.

So you survived all those vaccinations, (and probably childhood vacs), never got sick, but refuse another?

My SIL works at à state pénitentiary. They gave out 415 free flu shots to inmates. Now they can watch TV in their cells in comfort.
