Pa just started on the 25th.
Got 1 coon last night, not in one of my DPs but in a fox dirthole set, back leg.
And, got my first fox of the season.



Only put 2 foothold traps out yesterday and went 2 for 2!
Hope that rate holds up!

Full black tipped tail, no white.

Really like the looks of the grey fox. I have caught two in this area in Mn. my whole career and that was 35 years ago.

I miss seeing and trapping them here in Idaho. Some people mistake them for a red fox due to the orange the Grays have on their coat.

Good looking fox. We get them occasionally around here. I caught my first one about 12 years ago, the next year I caught two, and the year after that I caught 12. Went four or five years before I saw another one after that.

Like I said, though I’ve been hunting for 45 years, I just started trapping last year, in frozen ground, which was quite humbling.

We got one gray off my farm last year and a bunch of reds. Definitely not a ton of grays around. However, per my cell cam while this male was latched up his mate was circling for a couple of minutes that I presume is another gray.

At seeing that, I just reset the trap today and rebaited the hole.
