One of the first sets for fox i ever made i used a mouse nest and caught a Red fox that was a long time ago but i still find myself using a set that is close to the real thing
i start by digging a trap bed and use the dirt to form a small mound behind the bedded trap i make a depresson and place the mound in it
then take my driver to punch a poke hole to hold the bait
i always carry lawn clippings because here in the north if the weather turns bad i will just pinch-bed the trap and use the clippings to cover i always spray the mound
with a good dose of clean urine and pack the clippings to form the mound the urine seems to help stick the grass to the dirt mound
i than use a bit of clippings to make the trap bed disapear
i bait the hole with a mouse / weasel mix and [Linked Image]

Good stuff there Bob. A small hole (or two) made with the trap stake or driver was a favorite of mine when I set for fox and coyotes for years. That backing looks really good.

I’ve use that exact set for Greys and it’s killer. Jameson grey fox urine and mouse musk oil and game over!
