Landed here in MO yesterday afternoon cold and wet with freezing overnight, youth seasons is on hunter orange is required yesterday and today. Been pushing it way too hard the last several weeks worse than usual so I slept in. No freezing the rest of the week is predicted. Head fog from not eating on the trip down and the hours putting up the boiler wood to get ready for this trip caught up to me.

Thought I had my setup projects done but nope found several more to do now that I’m here with cameras and another blind to put out but I like keeping busy. Buddy’s not very motivated just not a mover and shaker never has been in the 45 years I’ve known him but the dynamics always works. I do things my way the way the way I want to do it so it’s done right the first time I’m a little OCD on hunting projects. LOL

Reviewing some cams today will put that blind up freshen up the other blind I have out. So far we know of 3 shooter bucks in the places we are hunting so far they are on the move more now. With the rut kicking in with daylight bucks running around I hope it continues it should only get better.

Will keep you posted on how it goes from here might have some cam pic later today.

Good luck Law Dog. I was at the farm for a while yesterday trying to get my skid steer started. I’m afraid the mice have been snacking on the wires.

I only heard one shot the whole time. I only got one pic from the youth gang that had killed a pretty nice puck. Also got a report of a bobcat sotted on the neighbor.

Seen a biggie tonight the best one so far he moved fairly early 4:20 came down a property line along a thick tree belt picked a fence post trying to figure what side of the fence he was on. He passed behind it so 5 strands of barbwire and some brush in the way and that put him over the fence on the neighbors so no shot.

Talked to a guy earlier in the day that has a camera in the area he said he had one chasing does in the area at 2:30 AM that was a big 8 pointer no telling if it’s the same buck or not. I’ll be there in the morning to see if he’s looking for the ladies.

Pulled a cam chip today nothing great did have some bobcat pics on it I set up another blind and cam out at the far end of the property line had a nice buck on a cam a couple weeks ago. Supposed to be another one the neighbor had on his camera that’s not the same one we had a pic of. Theres a hefty doe on the cam named her Rosie she’s a biggie also.

Big bucks must be thick as flea's down there. I see a decent once in awhile, but to see three 160 plus hanging around in the roads in one morning is impressive.

I have a 45 mile drive through some good deer country.

The 3 160's were 1/4 mile off the road in bean stubble on a large farm

I knew they were good bucks when I could see the head gear from the highway.

Had to stop and throw the spotting scope on them. I wasn't let down, accept for not having permission to hunt there.
Can't even get permission to trap that farm
