If anyone hasn’t gotten their hands on it yet, Tracy Truman just put out a book on cat trapping. It’s the single best source on trapping cats ever put together. From scouting, to locating, to catching, you name it. I highly recommend it. It’s not just another book with a guy’s opinion, it’s going to change the way many people think about trapping even coyotes.

Actually, the book is 107 pages (8 1/2 X 11") and has almost 100 color and B&W photos. There is also a bibliography with references to articles, scientific studies and whatnot that will round out even more bobcat information. I have included the lure formulas that I use, and that many of my friends have used to take a pile of cats.

If it's as well written and put together as the grey fox book...then it's a good'un!

I recently bought Tracy's book, and so far, I'm only about halfway through it. It's extremely well written and very easy to understand. After watching his demo at Coyote Days this year, I knew the book was bound to be great. And it is, to say the least.

Does it contain info on rainforest coastal Oregon trapping?

I just went to all three of the retailers you listed and didn't see a book about bobcat trapping written by Tracy Truman. Unless there is some special place they are listing your book, it ain't there.

He'll be writing a water trapping book after tonight. Supposed to get an inch of rain tomorrow.
That doesn't sound much to some of you but in country that gets 6 inches in a year it's a lot.
Some of those washes are likely to flash flood depending on the storm intensity.
An inch in a day is pretty darn intense!!

If you've never experienced an inch of rainfall in the desert southwest, imagine pouring a bucket of water on an asphalt parking lot.

i cant even trap bobcats here where i am but ill buy a copy of the book as mr lazarus was kind enough to share his bacon bait which my son and i have piled more coon skunk and oppossum than i can count. you sir have given back to this community in so many ways. thank you for that.

Tracy’s ‘cat trapping experience is in the west, and the locations and sets described in great detail (with many photos) are yes, western style ‘cat trapping experience

But, the title of the book says it all

‘Small Gains, Big Catches’

He tells the evolution of his ‘cat trapping from start to finish, in a fashion I doubt anyone else can or would.

He gives credit where credit is due, and not name dropping, but a true tribute with respect to people that have helped him get to where he is at with ‘cat trapping (Which is top of the game)

This book WILL be change the way a LOT of people trap ‘cats in the future, there is no doubt.

Demos are great, DVD’s are great, but a book that you can read and see step by step a complete system is great also.

The set construction advise alone is worth 100 times the cost of the book

I will guarantee you that some of the guys that buy the book and apply the information will make that return on their investment THIS season

Even though I don't trap out west I still plan on getting this book. Will be a good test to see if western style of cat trapping can be applied to pine thickets and hill country.

Very nice , Laz . I’m going to get a copy on my next order to F& T just to get my juices going after taking last year off. This weather should soften up the Choyas a little.

Finished the last pages of my book. Tracy signed it and addressed it to me so It’s a permanent family heirloom now.

And here I am. Just settled in from setting cat traps. There’s just not a reason to not read it again!
