American Revolution on PBS?

I'm an hour into it and about had my belly full of how awful those white folks were.

I had hoped for better but I guess not.

Not watching it, but I just something about it earlier today and would like to see it.

Are you seeing things that are factually incorrect? Or do you just not like what's being presented?

It's 12 hours total aired in 2 hour increments over six days. I saw just the first hour so cant speak to the rest of it. But, no, I didn't see anything factually incorrect but at every opportunity the words Black, White, Native/Indigenous were used and any time motive was raised or mostly implied it painted Whites as interested in native lands or money or not paying their fair share and the most profitable colonies and profit to be made revolved around slavery.

I definitely get the message they are laying down.

Heck, they even started by impugning Washington when he wasn't given a commission in the British Army implying that he went home to sulk.

Ken Burns has gotten progressively more progressive. That's a terrible waste of talent.

I probably will not watch it, but will say, the American Experience on the Civil War was one of the best documentaries I've ever watched.

His history on baseball was really good but that was several years ago.

I watched the last half hour of it about Lexington and Concord. I learned quite a bit about the start of the war. There were many people quoted that are generally left out.

History can be twisted to be beneficial to whatever perspective you want.

Agree 100%.

And that is why it is very difficult, if not impossible, to learn the entire truth behind history. Even primary sources written at the time by people in the event can and will be skewed by their world view.

Best to read, read, read, and read some more. It's amazing how different an event can sound when the story is told by different people on different sides.

Agree with history and perspectives... And I'll watch this one and get his historian's perspectives
