I did to guy worked for my uncle's tree business as did I as a kid from about 9 years old. His remarks were "9 to 90 older enough to bleed old enough to breed" Said with big stupid grin on his face. Never spoke like that when my uncle was around. Other than that he was good help, strong and showed up on time or was ready to go if we were picking him up to drive company equipment.

I have had plenty of pictures taken with people at events I dont even like let alone friends. And im not rich runing in circles where million dollars of business deals are worked in social settings and events.

Goes back to the program I saw about it. Sounded like the girsl were there voluntarily, enjoying the high profile rich lifestyle and well compensated for their time. Add in they were gone days at a time where were their parents and what did their parent think they were doing. Were the parents pimping the kids out.

Other than being under age are there any other laws against taking them out of state/country without parents concent.
Sounded more like they wanted to be there. Doesn't make it right but its far different than what I think of as forced child rape as implied by so many.

At this point what comes out no one will believe it. none of the girls are pointing fingers doing interviews puting out books ect. Its been going on for years some of them are over 18 now but not a word. Seems strange to anyone putting emotions aside and thinking about it.

That 15 year old today may have had more partner than you have and more than willing knowing what's going on. The 8 year old had no clue. There is a huge difference between the two. Not long ago marriage at 14 and 15 was common. 8 not unless you are Muslim .

I dont agree with either but lumping a willing participant in as rape becuse of under 18 is very different than forced rape at any age but especially child rape.

Sounds like the girl were basically under age prostitutes that went to the island from the limited stuff I saw. They wrre compensated with trips shopping and cash. That's is a far cry from child rape.

It would be nice to know all the prople going to say the Philippines and other countries doing the same thing with children forced to be there. Trump put out a big fat lie on Truth Social last night saying he instructed congress to vote for the bill and that is why it passed. The reality is, it was going to pass without his approval. He was outplayed by Thomas Massie. Trump didn't want the appearance of losing control of the republican party so he flipped his position to a yes vote. I think most people, both those for trump and against him, can see through that.

Other than that, I like most of his other policies he's currently putting forward, with the exception of the 50 year mortgages, which is financial suicide for most and will crush the RE markets.

Regarding the "court of public opinion".......we all hopefully agree that when people do bad things, they deserve to be punished. (In this case, the bad thing is raping children.) Now, in a civilized society, we like to rely on official bodies to do the deciding innocence and guilt, and to do thepunishing, which, in our society, is the executive and judicial branches. We rely on these official bodies to do it, because mob rule is messy and often "gets it wrong", and we view this official process has having legitimacy.

But what happens if people do bad things, and the official bodies choose not do anything and choose not to punish people that do bad things? We basically have 2 options, as far as I see. We can either....1.Shrug our shoulders and accept the fact that people got away with doing bad things, or 2. Take matters into our own hands, judge them in the "court of public opinion", and punish them as we see fit. (Not necessarily through violence, though it certainly happens that way sometimes, it can look like public shaming and humiliation too).

Explain how taking matters into our own hands, judge them in the "court of public opinion" and punish as we see fit differs from mob rule which often gets it wrong.
