What's to argue, Winchester's are a John Moses Browning, blessed be his name, design.

We're on the same side then.

No exaggeration. I can shot 1 inch groups at 100 yds. That sounds unbelievable. I thought so also. Until I did it. These sights are amazing, very affordable and easy to install. Just use the blue loc tight or Elmers glue. DO NOT USE THE RED LOC TITE!!

Or this one.

And this front sight.

Thank me later. You will be very happy you did this. I was awestruck.

Thank you now! I will tell Chuckie I don’t understand any of this…
Appreciate it!

I prefer the steel lymans to the aluminum williams.

There's a ton of gently used vintage ones still out there, even the redfields. Fleabay has quitea few.

I never understood the need for a safety on a lever gun with a hammer. I have a JM 336 new enough to have a safety. Gun also has the half c o c k feature to carry loaded. I bought safety removal part. Easy to install and no more forgetting to check the safety after pulling the hammer back.

Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

That safety cost my cousin at least one nice buck. Click. SaFty on a hammer gun is one of the dumbest lawyer gun things.

The safety can be eliminated. I killed my first buck with a marlin back in the early 80’s. Still have a couple in 30/30 and 35 rem. Been looking for a clean one in 32 win special that I can justify.

They are very good rifles.

Do yourself a favor and install the Williams peep site and front fire bead, take the aperture out and use the rear as a ghost site...

I preferred 150 grain ammo, or better yet the Hornaday lever evolution 160's, makes the 30-30 like it's on steroids. good luck...

]I have one in .35. Nice choice. I have watched 3 outdoor shows where the hunter forget the safety and pulls trigger to a resounding click.

The receiver sight will greatly improve your ability to be accurate.

My brother and I both had them installed in the 70's on our 20ga Ithaca Deerslayer shotguns. Along with a Remington rifle ramp front sight.

We are both in our mid/late 70's now, killed a lot of deer with those guns. And they'll really hammer a coyote.

Congratulations to you on the newest member to your family, Smasher. A lever gun is a thing of beauty, make sure not to spoil it being a safe queen!

My first deer rifle was a Remington model 788 in 30/30. Still have it and it’s a shooter
