I attended the University of MN for one year and made the Dean's List. Come to find out, it was the wrong list. I was majoring in Natural Resource Management by day but my main focus was beer and skirts by night. A roommate hooked me up with fighting fire in Idaho when I was 19 and I did that for 32 years.

I have nothing clever to put here.

Angela, congratulations on your degree! That’s awesome.

Those lawyers care about where it’s from sometimes. It only matters in a few professions as they want a fancy pants school I suppose.

I know when I hire, I’m just looking at what they studied and how that education relates to the work that is needed.

Have a good one!

I went to a community college, and I am pretty sure they got paid by the length of their degree names

Two degrees from Finger Lakes community college

AAS in Natural resource management wildlife conservation / outdoor recreation

AAS in Natural resource conservation law enforcement

The dream at that time was to become a conservation officer. I took the test and actually did pretty well I was ranked about 800 out of 5000. But they were only filling 42 spots. I ended up sticking with farming and have very few regrets.

First congrats.

When I worked at a nuclear plant in SC, the company sponsored (paid for) the licensed operations staff to complete a BS degree from the Univ of Maryland via remote learning. It was a highly regarded program. There was a lot of pressure in the industry at the time for senior shift operations staff to have a BS degree in addition to their Nuclear Regulatory Commission issued operating license. No second rate degree program would have met the standard.

My degree is a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island.

PS: I got my degree and escaped southern New England a month later, never to move back.
