Got a beaver job with an old long established beaver colony. Not my usual cleanup of new pairs. The new ones average around 30lbs tops. The two I hauled out today were honest 50+ pounders.

I had a beaver job that involved cleaning out some beavers that had been there a number of years. I caught a couple decent ones on the first check. I'd guess that they were in the fifty pound range. The gal I was trapping for felt so bad when I carried them out that she gave me a $100 tip before I even finished the job.

Them 50 pounders are nice to catch when truck is close by. I'm getting to old to haul the 30 lb. beaver when I have to carry them to far. The problem calls the last couple of years have been for new beaver that just moved in. Which is usually nice they are not to big.

I think charging by the job is fair, charging by the pound only works if you’re dealing with an established colony.
