160's work so much better for coon and possum. No more suitcases. Easier to deal with. Just work better all the way around, and less worrying about my dog sticking his nose in there. I'd never thought I say that, but 160's are just the way to go. Just the fact that it's easier to remove the trap from the carcass is a big +++

Just a weekend trapper...

I like 160's also but I think a person might get more refusals for coon. I went to them for fisher and catches are right behind the ears.

Get that 160 about 5" off the ground when setting trails for coon and you will have very few refusals. Same with boxes get that box up at a 45degree angle so the coon doesn't have to get down on its belly to get in the box. It makes things a little more complicated, but it works.

How about for bobcats. We cannot use a 220 in a baited box on the ground here but can with a 160. Any baited box with a 220 has to be 4 foot above the ground or snow level. Any luck getting cats to poke their heads in a 160.

Trail cameras and fresh snow have broke a lot of trapper’s hearts.

I know of a trapper in Alaska that has taken at least 2 lynx with 120s set about 5' above the ground in marten boxes. I was there! Pretty crazy.

Just doing what I want now.

When I trapped In Canada, I caught 4 red fox and one Lynx in marten boxes. But ours were only 3' off the ground. And we were using 120s.
Never actually targeted cats with BGs. If I was restricted with the use of BGs I would use snares to take those cats.
