They were big during the boom years I’d do a web search to see what’s out there or see if Lee has any ready to sell his are just as good if not better.

Thanks guess they haven't made them for quite some time. Ive got Lee's and about 7 or 8 other makes. Collecting them i guess lol. Ive used them all. Necker 600 is the only one I've had to sharpened out of the box. I was highly disappointed.

I think they quit making the 800s and 400s at least 20 years ago?

If you watch the tools of the trade section of the of the NAFA WFSC video on beaver handling, one of the Howell brothers give a good instruction on how to sharpen and maintain a fleshing knife. They do a few beaver and coon a year...
Lee Steinmeyer. I originally purchased a Necker. Same issue, not sharp. but worked good once I sharpened it up. Then I decided to purchase Steinmeyer because of this site. figured I try it, along with the death ray (that is another great product) I own both size knives. You will not regret purchasing a knife form him. I favor the mini parallel.
After I bought my Caribou I think I threw my Necker out... or gave it away or something, at any rate it's gone. Bought one of Lee's last year but haven't really had a chance to try it out yet.
X2, I have one of Lee's also and it is nice, but the Caribou has flat smaller handles and I feel I can control the super sharp blade better. The dull side on it is sharper than others and it makes pushing way easier to me anyway.
