Thanks. Speaking of novelty fur, I have a ringtail I picked up many years ago in Arizona. There were a lot of them around central Arizona along the canyons, but Zero trapping on public land there.

Just doing what I want now.

We have plenty of them in southern nevada. Most of my pan tensions are too high for them. And for AZ there's no public land foothold/snare trapping allowed, but you can use cages.

If traps work like the Antis say......I would have no fingers.

Got some more sets out today and found a canyon with some pretty fresh cat sign so hopefully we connect soon. Ended up with another kit fox.

Skunked checking tonight, but before it got dark I was able to find a pretty good spot. Lots of scratches or "digs" as some people call them, and turds.

Most of our washes have pretty course sand so we dont really get defined tracks. Normally just indentation. But this one is no doubt a cat track. The picture is harder to make out, but in person there is no doubt what made that track. We had a week of pretty good rain a few weeks back which washed out the washes and firmed up the ground so I wasn't able to pick out more to see where exactly it went.

Because of some work issues late last night that forced me needing to kick a subcontractor off a job and get a new one started this morning, we got up at 3am and started checking in the dark. The boys have always wanted to check traps while using flashlights so they had no problem with that. One part of our line is a pretty big hiking loop so we did that last. We got over halfway through to a spot were I put the new sets in on Tuesday. One of the sets was messed up but there was no drag to be seen.

Then I noticed a chain coming down the embankment with my drag attached.

So I climbed up and looked over the bank and saw this.

A big beautifully colored Tom. No filter used or needed in this Pic.

This spot has a lot of turds so hopefully it wasn't all done by this cat. Did the remake and got a belly Pic. Belly spots are a little cloudy, but still a beautiful cat.

Nice cat

Bet it was hairy knowing something was on the other end of that chain when you had to climb up and peek over eek
