Is there something of great value where they were trespassing?
We bought a piece of property that couldn’t be under surveillance without cameras and such, about worried me to death. I then realized there wasn’t anything of real value there and anybody walking around had probably been doing so prior to us owning it. Long as they aren’t dumping trash and such or starting fires, it is what it is and I don’t get too worked up over it. My blood pressure appreciates my new outlook even if others don’t.
Good outlook and points. But Would you feel the same way if you lived on the property with your family and had people trespassing? I wouldn't like the trespassing but in a remote property I dont live on i wouldn't be as bent out of shape about it as I am the land I live on.

I do live here. They don’t come to the house, the barn, the shop, the cabin or any of the sheds there. They have their portable stands on me but no 4 wheelers or machines. If I see them, we have a conversation but I’m not patrolling.
I do call out several times when I get to the range. Just incase somebody is somewhere they shouldn’t be.

Last year there was someone in a portable stand checking my boys out with his rifle scope when they were out on a walk or hunting. Im not to friendly with any trespassing. You dont know if they intend to shoot you or if they are wanting a better look doing that. So to me after reading about I ur people geting shot on their own land by trespassers looking at someone with your scope is not a good way to survive the day.

I can see where that would be concerning but there are hunters all around me this time of year and even on properties that I trap. I’m pretty sure I have been in glass many times from folks just wondering what I’m doing. I don’t get too worked up over it even when I feel somebody looking.

OP, How big of a piece of property are we talking about? Is it conspicuously posted? If it is a large piece of property, and it isn't posted well, then I am guessing that you are in eastern Oregon.
One thing I've noticed in the west, is that on the coast, in heavy timber country, large land owners don't seem to be wound nearly as tight regarding people on their land as do the rancher type of landowner in the eastern (dry/open/sagebrush) sides of Washington, Oregon, and throughout the arid western states.
Unfortunately this has been changing a lot in western Oregon and Washington in the last few years due to outside timberland companies buying up land that was originally owned by companies like Weyerhaeuser, Plum Creek, Longview Fiber, etc..

Yes eastern,100 acres, perimeter fenced with no trespassing and “smile you’re on camera” signs every 50-75 yards. There is no way you can accidentally enter without crossing a fence and seeing the signs. I catch people every year and add more signs And there is LTE cell service for using onX maps. No excuses, they simply thought they were entitled to trespass.

The bottom line for me Is that my wife and I lived like coyotes for a decade to save up for the down payment. No one is entitled to the use of our property besides us and anyone we allow.
