I am still pretty new to trapping, but this has worked for me. I am open to any constructive ideas you may offer-

How I do a Dirt hole set

Looks good .The only thing I would suggest is set the night latch before bedding the trap .if it goes off you have to start over.Place your index finger below the pan with your thumb on top the pan and depress the pan till it night latches.

Good to my novice eyes. I'd echo what Slipknot said.

Thank you for the feed back. Question: Do you ever have problems getting all your chain in the trap bed? I have a chain and swivel attached to the one that came with the trap and its about 15 inches long. I just kept digging the middle to accomodate the chain

Personally, I do not like any extra junk under the trap. It makes it harder to bed the trap and uses more waxed dirt.

I generally have the trap anchor, about 6" before the trap. Dig a little trench for the chain. You can also cover the chain with an outside blocker, rock, cow pie, pile of dirt, etc. Give it a try!

You are on the right track TK.
This series of photos and captions explain it pretty well.
