A poem written several years ago by Jack Whitman

Christmas in Paradise

It's Christmas in this land of white,
A twinkling of the Northern Light
At noon the sun is not too bright
But everything's okay.

It's sixty-five below outside
All the critters run and hide
To save their bacon they have tried
To make it another day.

There's sun-dogs in the air around
A thick white blanket on the ground
The spruce are silent; not a sound
But everything's okay.

I split the wood with heavy maul
And pile the stack against the wall
A bucket of water I must haul
To make it another day.

The one-room cabin standing there
Among the spruce trees that I share
With marten, otter, lynx and hare
Yeah, everything's okay.

It's Christmas in this land of mine
I'll celebrate without the wine
Coffee with sugar'll be just fine
I like Christmas this way.

Life is hard. It's even harder if your stupid!

Thanks ianarewolves for sharing this poem with us , I'm sure there's a lot more people who miss Jack that aren't letting it be known .

Merry Christmas and I hope nothing but the Best for the New Year to one and all !

You're friend along the snare line .
