The lake is quite low and I'm thinking of mounting a 330 on a boathouse piling. I'll spread some castor on the piling and maybe he will swim around and through the 330 trying to find it. I'm thinking of using an H stand unless the knowledge base has other suggestions. Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking of a snare but I'm afraid a beaver, if tangled around a piling, may attempt to chew through that. Unhappy customer. I used an H stand today.

Not a 330 but I have used a foothold on a log. I'm sure it will work on a piling. I had a beaver making castor mounds on log in the middle of the river. I made a platform that looks like an L. Long side up. I used a 2 x 6. I think bottom was a pc of 3/4 plywood. I had some 2x 4 bracing underneath for strength. 3 sides. The back and both sides but not the front. Anyway I cut a hole in the plywood so the trap sits flat and does not rock. There's a groove in the front of the plywood so the chain will come out.. Drowning rod was screwed to the log. I screwed the platform to the log w/ it set about 6-8" under the water. Put some castor on the log. He couldn't stand it. Caught him the 1st night. Caught a 2nd one about a week later.
