I am afraid there would have been a good chance there would be a bad ending for someone if that happened here. I don't ask many questions, particularly with the description of the individual and the circumstances you shared. Too many undesirables around these days.

Thats crazy but it happens. Itd be less sad but no diff than the mom that was shot dead by her son b/c her and dad snuck into his house at 5am to surprise him for his birthday. Both stories are probably something to learn from.

You guys may want to ease up on watching John Wick and Yellowstone.

Pretty sure stacking bodies for someone with the wrong address lands you in prison.

We don't all live where Cholos commonly roam, you might see them on the daily but here in this part of the country they stand out more than guys that resemble Bigfoot.

Thanks for sharing your story.
I have always been a dog person. I currently own four German Shepherds as well as a few labs.
Dogs will alert when someone arrives. You could take a nap and not be concerned about anybody showing up and you not knowing about it.

I do not blame you for being wound up with the experience. It is easy for some to criticize how someone handles things.
I worked as a carpenter for a lot of years. I cannot imagine going into a home that I was not certain about. I too worked in a lot of homes when
folks were not home. Sometimes had a key, sometimes they left the house unlocked.
Would never have gone into a house I was not sure I had work to do in. These days those dumb @#RQT \'s were lucky nothing worse happened to them.

My Mother and Father in law were having some work done in their basement about 30 years ago and it was contract work. He had a large safe in the basement where these guys were working. About 3 days later they were in bed and he kept hearing a pecking sound outside his bedroom window. When he looked out there was a man on his knees at the basement window which was under the bedroom window breaking out the glass in the basement window. He yelled at the man. The guy jumped up and ran down the road and got in to a truck and took off down the road. They didn't know it, but they lived on a dead end road. The crooks turned around and came back flying by the house and when they went by my Father in law unloaded a Smith & Wesson 357 magnum at the back of the truck. He went in to call the cops but they had cut the phone lines. He couldn't say for sure if it was some of the guys that did the work in the basement but thought they had seen the safe and came back to steal what was in it. They were an older couple and no telling what would have happened if they would have gotten in. My Father in law was someone you didn't want to mess with even at his age. They never heard anything from the cops after they came out and investigated it. He said he could hear the rounds hitting the truck as it left

I'm glad that turned out alright in the end, Finster. I'm thinking that when you had one guy in front of you and the second guy came out of your house - That must have been quite the moment!

Good thing you didn't take a nap that day!

Ok…we’re those people you asked about. Not sure I’d do it with LOWES, but the guy that tiled our house looked like he’d just got out of prison, but was the BEST in the SE at laying tile. We let him come and go as he pleased. The guy that made our blinds we let come and go. Several contractors have had access to the house while we aren’t home.

With that said, all were informed to call upon arrival and I’d remotely unlock the doors. All were also made aware the entire house and outside are monitored by cameras. You set foot in my front/side/back yard and I know it. Heck our UPS guy called with a big package he didn’t want to leave outside so I unlocked the door for him to set it inside. We also have cameras inside, except bedrooms and bathrooms, so we can watch if needed. Before CJ got a phone he would ring the doorbell to let us know he’s home from school and ask what snacks he could have. He eventually realized we can talk through the cameras inside the house but with the doorbell he knew we’d check it to see who it was.
