Policing and rule of law is good, police abusing their power is wrong even if you happen to politically agree with the end result. And there's nothing good about the surveillance state.

Most conservatives I know support the police! It was the democrats that were wanting to defund them... well, at least until now that they want their help!! Are you also opposed to the way that citizens are surveilling law enforcement?

Well either that is the duplicity we've come to expect asking why those bad people won't let me continue in bad behavior and law breaking or you are honestly unable to grasp what events have led up to this.

At no time has a conservative wanted armed paramilitary forces in our streets and kicking in doors. Just review my past commentary on the subject. However, we have long stood for proper enforcement of the law and after decades of law breaking the clean up and restoration of law can not by simple definition be a pretty process and when the left compounds the issue with even further law breaking it will get down right ugly.

No, I'm not opposed to citizens keeping an eye on the state and being distrustful of the state. What reasonable person wouldn't be distrustful of the state? We know that people in power tend to abuse that power. ICE is not exempt from that principle. Edited to add: I too support policing and rule of law. That, of course, doesn't mean I do so blindly. Plenty of police abuse their power.

The problem is, you seem to think every time the police act to restore law and order, they are abusing their power.

It can be, yes. NCIC isn't for willy-nilly whatever-you-want use. Running plates to play a game of uno-reverse doxxing on protestors, while funny and clever, is almost certainly a violation of NCIC rules.

Running the plates of someone who is harassing federal agents, while they are working is 100% part of the job. The officers' safety is at stake.
