Most transformers have about 79 gallons of oil in them. That will get you a long way and there is no shortage of transformers. Very few people know about this.

Would a 6.5 Creedmore be enough cartridge to make a hole in the transformer or would it be better to use a larger caliber? Say a 30- 06 or a 45-70? Looks to me like a 6.5mm (.264) hole wouldn't let out much oil and a larger caliber hole would be faster.

You will have to make at least 2 holes so the transformer can vent.

Convert the emergency generator to propane and never worry about it again.

Years ago a guy saw me posting on a snowmobile site and offered to send me a bottle of Startron. It wasn’t available retail around here yet. This product cured all my stored gas issues. I buy 91 octane with no ethanol, add Startron and have started snowmachines, ice motor, outboard and others after 2-3 years of sitting. By far the best stabilizer I have found. You can get it everywhere now, Walmart, Menards,TSC etc.
