Couple years ago i walked up to a set that i had put in the day before, the last set. The coyote was chewing on something i thought was a limb. I get up to it and it was what was left of my hammer. Also have found bait, lures left at sets before. Usually doesn't seem to make a difference in the catches though.

I've forgot my snowmobile coat twice this winter. First time it was 40 degrees and I had a raincoat in the truck so I made do. Second time it was 10 and I had 40 miles of line to ride so I went home and got it. I have several times made sets and lured them next check because I forgot lure in the truck or at the house. I've not caught anything in a flat set with no lure, but I know a county trapper who swears by unlured dirtholes for coyotes when trapping amongst cows.
