Curious, are those things all forged or all cast? I know they cost an arm and a leg and don't use the less costly stamping method of the rest of the trapping world uses.

So apparently the history of the Livestock Protection Company is not well known.

As several on here know, the canine head on LPC pans first appeared in 1990.

Most notable wolf capture & release programs for tracking/relocation began in 1970s using Oneida-Newhouse traps. Many of these early wolf traps had LPC replacement parts installed after mid-1980s, but by 1995, majority of wolf teams went exclusively to using LPC-made traps. Several custom models were offered for wolf research.

Much LPC company history was already assembled by Bill Applegate (deceased), close friend of LPC founder & owner Roy McBride (also deceased). I had the privilege of knowing both and will be doing an update article on LPC in NATCA "Traps" magazine soon.
