Here in Pennsylvania we are only allowed one bobcat with only a three week season. I had a fellow who seemed to catch a cat every year tell me that he would find an area in the winter time where there were cat tracks and then take in two bags of play sand and dump the sand out in the area where he found cat tracks he would add urine and a dropping and he claimed within a years time it would draw cats regularly. Do any of you have any experience with this or is he just throwing around a lot of nonsense.

Never “made” a toilet, but if you find one then set it and you’ll have a cat. I do make sets and add some scat and that works too.

Disclaimer: I don’t deal with snow…all my sets are regular ole clay with a little dirt mixed in.

Find someone that has house cats and ask them to save you a couple buckets of litter. Take them out and dump some in good cat habitat. You will get the same reaction. Dig down to bare ground first and make a bowl underneath to hold the litter.

I found what I really think was a cat toilet. There was one main spot and a few other piles close by on an old skid road. I found tracks there in rifle season and set it up the first day of the season 2 weeks later. I never saw another set of tracks there. I ended up catching a cat in a different area so a put a camera over the toilet and still nothing. The cats seemed to disappear everywhere after the first week of cat season so I’m not quite sure what happened but I never found evidence of a cat back at the toilet. I’ll probably go back and check in the snow if we get good weather. Snows to deep to get back in there now.

I like this idea. I think I'm going to try it. It's sort of like making a mock scrape for WT bucks. I've had good success w/ mock scrapes.
