Was it all put up?

Doesn't look too bad to me at all.

Wow, I guess I've missed out the past few years.

Maybe I should do a early spring season just to nail skunks, although none of those suckers come home to the house before getting washed in the field wink grin

The $45 one was a full pelt put up. The rest were dried tails only.

I’ve got 10 to put up I can’t decide to do just the tails or do the full put up. It seems like a waste to put up the whole skunk if they are paying for the tails mostly but I’ve got several huge ones so I’m kind of torn what way to go now. Maybe just tan the lot they cost less to tan if I send in a couple dozen.

I’ll need to check the stripe colors before I make up my mind some are a little off colored so decisions need to be made it’s warming up this week.

Lots of white on the tails is the hot ticket. Black tails are just skunks as in two or three years ago prices.

But I would think your big SD skunks with good stripes even with black tails would do better than our smaller easterns.

No interest in the ones with the black tails but the ones I had returned they were early ones that might be the bigger issue there. I sold 6 the first time early on $50 average then I sold 9 of the 11 for $280 the second time so there was a big difference. This next batch should do better bigger whiter ones.

Very little white on the tails that I had. I had no offers.

On just selling the tails, I assume you just skin it out like normal and cut it off at the base?

I cut it off at the base, skin the tail off the bone and stretch it out flat
And suck the nectar out of the scent pods with a syringe.

You would think they would at least give a little for a black tail to sew on all the pelts they tanned and cut the tails off of.
