It will not pass, I think. The seriously left whackos are somewhat concentrated in Portland, Salem, and to a slightly lesser degree, Eugene and, unfortunately, Bend. However, when leftist ballot measures for the entire state hit the voting numbers, there is a good showing from the right side, and you might be surprised how narrow the left/right margins really are. When the left wins in Oregon, it's not by much. And the east side contributes meaningfully to the state. There are huge cattle ranches, horse ranches, many different hunting clubs, etc. that will rally and fund to defeat this nonsense. The fishing industry will be very vocal, as well.

What will happen here is the needle will move in our direction when the general public identifies all the AR folks as nut jobs. To abolish all animal husbandry has no chance of passing and what it does do is make those that propose such a thing to be totally out of touch with reality.

I'm not much of a pessimist.....so I'll say yes, I'll still be right, as long as they're trying to ban all animal killing. Now if it's just trapping, well uh... I'm not as optimistic.

The bill they want to pass also makes killing mice and rats illegal, just think how my business would flourish! Not everyone knows how to catch rats and mice in live traps. Of corse you would have to be careful where to release them unharmed.

In all reality this might be the right time to push a bill to change Oregons constitution to include hunting trapping and fishing as a right. They have brought a lot of light to their agenda and more people would support normal rational thinking.

I grew up in Oregon. I joined the marines in 75 spent 6 1/2 years got out moved back and found out the state had gotten completely out of control. Moved out and never went back. I've been watching Oregon get stupider every year! Now Im watching Virginia become Californication and Oregon. Now Im too old to join the marines to escape the insanity.
