They pretty much laughed at me. They have easements but they don't own it and they need to leave the land better then when they came on it.

I always preached that the crews to respect other land and work with them the best we can. This REA is terrible to work with on my place and no respect for the consumer. I'm not the only I have heard that from around here. They ever need a pull I will be sending them a huge bill and all costs involved. No friend of mine.

Dad knew a guy that the power company got out of boundary cutting ROW

When it was all said and done, power company had pulled line off of his entire place and rerouted.
And it was a big line, transmission not supply

Dad said he must of had a dang good lawyer.
He also had real deep pockets

Not how it goes majority of the time but you can get the upper hand on them

Transmission is a whole different ball of wax falling under NERC. Same with Sub Trans voltages. Big liability. They probably wanted to move the line a long time ago and waited for an upgrade to make changes? In our Hydro Act, we can take any danger tree that could hit the line even outside of the ROW, but we never do.
Manitoba is where a UTT will find out what they’re made of. When they go back to Saskatchewan or Alberta, it’s all open and just the odd limbs to remove.
People get killed, property gets burnt and the next thing you know the CEO says to take care of this tree problem then increases the budget 10 fold. Cottages in the rich lake country can’t get fire insurance…… The insurance companies are putting a lot more pressure on the utility. More death, more burnt property, more pressure.

Any contractor that’s disrespectful to a customer will be dealt with here. I’m actually surprised how many people are just say to take what we need when they live along a busy highway and their buffer will be almost gone. It helps if their power issues due to trees over the last 20 years……lol. When we’re done, we make sure the contractor did their job and everything is mulched where possible.

Wind Blew, crap flew, out came the line crew

Another problem: In Mo, Cedars are considered an invasive species and preserving any will likely be impossible!
