Is your daughter in Jalisco? It sounds like the rest of Mexico is no more dangerous than it normally is. I hope she's okay.

I suspected something was about to go down as I recently read and article that some of our special operators were headed down there to train some of the federales.

I honestly don't see how the Mexicans can go up against the cartels and get them cleaned out without it going into some sort of insurgency or civil war. The cartels are too entrenched and armed and infiltrated into the infrastructure. I wish them the best at cleaning house, but I'm afraid it'll get really ugly in the process.

Praying that our people can steer clear of it and get safely back to our side of the border. Maybe we can park some of our navy offshore to assist with any necessary evacuations.

57 years trapping. It's who I am. Every day is still as exciting as it was when I was a kid but a little more work.

Does your daughter live down there or is just traveling? Like Keith says, she is likely fine if she's in one of the tourist areas. Puerto Vallarta would not be the place to be for sure.

I'll keep all innocent people who are in that area in my prayers and hope they are safe. I've been to Mexico 9 times and PV once, Cabo twice, they're not far apart. Sheltering in place may mean they are telling them to go back to their rooms at the resorts. The resorts are on the ocean which it's easy to gain access to the grounds via the beach. When they serve the meals it's in an open air dining room on the first floor so I wonder how they'll handle that. Maybe everyone will get room service but would you want to open the door? Scary times no doubt.
