Many thanks for the kind thoughts to all, again.

It was a fun afternoon with my veteran friends on the estate. Vets have a humor unique only to themselves . Especially amongst each other. They tease unmercifully and oftentimes rough , no language censor, either. They simply refuse and say what they want. They're a hoot for me. One is retired Special Forces . How I met him is a story in itself. He is the guy who keeps teasing me to trade his 300 Weatherby for mine. Because of the beauty of the wood grain in mine. Another is a Black Hawk pilot , two others, crew Chiefs , and still others gunners and a fuel tanker pilot. Tremendous men, scars and all. I wouldn't have them any other way. I love the new program of reading to them from good story material every week. It is good for the mind , at any age, especially for vets who enjoy this.

RdFx, yes these birds are very different. Not the most melodious of the list, but there's an ethereal, other worldly feeling they put to deep woods when you hear them. The slight echo after each note that typifies sounds deep in the trees makes them even more surreal .

Thank you, Trapstick Man, for that German Chocolate cake !

Dan B., thank you, and yes we did a little target shooting with an assortment of 1911's before supper !

Charlie, so happy your surgery went well. You'll be crawling all over those combine harvesters in no time.

Next year I will still be 45 . smile
