That's cool! The way I sell them, there's about a 10 dollar difference in pelt price, plus I enjoy putting up fur.

I had set a 110 in a dry hole above the water line, but my trap was missing! I was so frustrated that something had pulled the trap off of the stake. Well, I kept checking my other traps around the pond, when I saw something floating in the water. I waded out to it, thinking it was a muskrat. That was when I realized that it was my first mink! It was awesome!

Nice mink! My trapping season was pretty short only caught like a total 15 squirrels and 1 red fox.

This was my first beaver ever. I snared it on a high bank run. The thing weighed 58 lbs. and stretched out to 70 inches! I made it into a rug. My dad euro mounted the skull for me.[Linked Image]

I want to catch a coyote soooooo bad. that's why I got into trapping bc we had so many coyotes on out new property and they were running all the deer off.but then the dog hunters have kept the yotes run off the past two years before I could get traps set out

That's annoying! I caught 5 coyotes this year, but we still have several around. On the upside, every coyote I caught was a female, so I removed 5 litters of pups. I snared all of mine. It just seems that the snares are easier for me.

That's awesome! We got a bunch of snare restrictions here so I never got into it

Yeah, we can snare beaver & otter in water I think but we can't on land, what we can use on land are cable restraints and they have a ton of restrictions on them too

Yeah, here in Ohio, we're lucky. The only restriction we have on snares is that it has to have a relaxing lock, the loop can't be set bigger than 12 in., no power snares, and a deer stop. I snared 4 of beaver and all 5 of my coyotes, so yeah, I'm lucky. I feel for you guys in these communist states who can't use snares. They are so lightweight, versatile, and effective.

This is one thing I can't keep here in Ohio. I caught two this year. This one was released unharmed, the other choked in the snare and had to be turned over to ODNR. Thankfully I just got off with a warning. The dumb cats kept hitting my coyote snares. [Linked Image]

Yep, takes a long time applying for preference points to get a tag for bobcats here

dang that sucks especially with the cat prices I been hearing abt. in nc you do t have to have special tags for anything ahead of time. you do have to get otter tags, but your allowed to get those after and tag then after. ig those rules are kinds laid back
