Unless it’s coming out of freezers I don’t see why? By the time the March auction was held only spring beaver could be harvested . Should not make any difference on this past season’s harvest. Suppose a few more hatter beaver could get on but there is a last receiving date that is before some of the Northern guys even can start .

Country buyers may have fur to put on the sale.

That’s perfect timing for the June auction. Last receiving date is April 12. 4 weeks is first part of May. Plenty of time to tag, measure and bag fur for the truck to NB, maybe even due a bit of pregrading. Then 4 weeks to grade and lot in NB. Perfect for a sale June 2-4.

What’s wrong with that schedule???

My bad I thought they were still receiving fur for that 3-to-4-week period. Now I see my error.

You got it correct. However, with the volume of fur coming in, it will be all hands on deck 6 days a week. That's why we're looking for extra hands.

In this case, NB = North Bay. I assume you already knew that. LOL!

blackhammer more bobcats should be at the June auction.
Best cats are taken in Feb most years. Receiving date was way before best cats were trapped for the March auction.

There were no fresh bobcats from the US on the March sale. FHA held them all for June.

At the DNR skinning party we put up at least 40 bobcats so those will be on the June sale.

40 bobcats might be a lot for Wisconsin but it is a drop in the bucket compared to the hundreds (thousands ??) coming from the western US.

June will be the first test of this “new market “. Seems like the country buyer continue dragging their feet. May lean towards lack of faith

Or because they can. Buy as cheap as you can principle. I suppose it could be Chinese are being patient and in no hurry to raise rat prices until they have to.

If that's the case it would have made more sense to raise rats $5 instead of mink $40

Probably some hesitation on rats because of how long they've been there, at least the top end ones.

It will be interesting to see quantities on this next sale. Things seem to be heating up in the field so the news is out. Conditions and population densities will hold down harvest in this area for rats. Much of the usual habitat is vacant.

Here’s hoping muskrats follow the market, after the SAGA sale the direction is clear.

If they're smart they will, this market may not stay this high. Next year there will be a lot more fur produced and shipped.

Maybe rats. But there simply isn’t a lot of mink or fox out there.

Retired Bloke? If the drive was closer I might consider it.

We use to have a grader of raccoon drive there from Winnipeg, he hated the winter drive, but this spring one was his favourite. But due to a certain conditions of boarder crossing...I'll say no more
