What do ya'll use to clean your grinders and food processors with after use? Just water? Detergent? Borax?

Are ya'll concerned with lingering castor odor or otter musk, beaver food lure odors in predator lures/baits, etc or vice-versa?

I use water and a brush. Then I air dry.

I clean most of the recently ground contents from the auger, knife and plate, then clean out what I can by using a butter knife to recover what I can from the housing of that material. I have very little waste this way.

I put the auger ( Only ) back in place and run a heavy rag thru the grinder throat keeping the auger in place with my hand as it turns. I do this a few times. This will clean most all of the leftover material from the housing and auger.

Other times I will soak all the parts in warm water with degreaser if it is deemed necessary. Most times I just hand clean and run the heavy towel like rag thru the grinder and let it dry. I also have a long wire handle brush that I use if I need to reach back to the auger motor hub face.

We have different grinders. I have a designated grinder for skunk pods that is not used for anything else. You can get lots of cross contamination trying to multi purpose your grinder after running skunk thru it. It will linger forever. We rarely wash it as it is not used for anything else. If anything it gets hit with a pressure washer if needed.

When grinding glands i clean grinder and parts.

When grinding meats and if I'm gonna be doing more in a few days,
I'll run some bread / glycerin threw it.

Than off season always gets a good clean, edible oil.

Let me sugar coat this
