Had to run her to the vet… she acted like something was wrong, like she had been scolded,, and wouldn’t go outside to go potty,, usually she wakes me up to go..
It was getting close to having to go to work so I tried to take her outside and she balked,,, so I drug her out..
She started dragging her butt on the ground and I knew something was wrong..
I took a look at her rear end and saw a strand of plastic Easter grass hanging out.
I instantly knew she was probably in serious trouble.

my granddaughter accidentally left her Easter basket on a short stool and the beagle found it and got into it… she normally leaves chocolate alone… for some reason she was a greedy gut.
They ran X-rays on her and sure enough , there was some Easter grass in there.
Luckily it wasn’t a whole lot and it didn’t seriously plug her up or wrap around anything.
Gave her a laxative shot and sent me home with some puppy poopin pills.

No more Easter grass in the house..although nova is usually very good with keeping her things picked up,, just not taking any more chances.

I am thinking we should just say NO to cheap disposable often single use decoration

wasn't it Bernei's grand daughter who ate some fake cobwebs as an infant and it nearly killed her.

what is the real cost of this cheap disposable junk

a green bandana or dish towel folded up in the basket would serve the same purpose as the easter grass and she could wear the bandana or the dish towel could get washed and folded and put away.

yeah I know I am a Ba-humbug about decoration

I like the holiday , the season , the gift

Yes , I put Christmas gifts in a brown paper bag , write merry Christmas on it and sometimes draw a little something on it with a marker.
My family approved this practice years ago when we were cleaning up all the wrapping and I said what a waste, we should just recycle grocery bags , they agreed and that is what I do.

although now I may be more inclined to use saved amazon boxes , I use canvas grocery bags that I re-use every week. the date of the start of service is written in the top edge of the bag , a bagger at the store commented , whoa dude those are like old man , I was like it was only 2021 I know I have had some longer than that but that is when I started dating them.

one of the best easter gifts I ever got was a small tackle box with a few lures , I think my parents were on a we didn't need any more candy kick , there were probably some jelly beans but I remember the tackle

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

We returned from Easter service once to discover our basset mix hound had eaten a basket full of foil wrapped chocolate eggs. Vet gave her a shot so she would throw up everything in her stomach. The foil came out in a round ball. I guess the stomach action pressed it all together. The ball was about the diameter of a quarter. The chocolate had already dissolved.

Pretty crazy what happens to stuff when it gets in the gut

My beagle once had a strand of tinsel hanging out of his butt. Wife pulled it out and everything was fine.
