I don't own a flintlock. Have 3 cap guns. A SxS 12 gauge that is fun to hunt birds with. Dog gets impatient while I load it though. A 50 cal kentucky rifle repro I have taken several deer with. A repro remington from pietta cap and ball revolver I have taken one deer with. Tried several BP replacers. Swiss black powder beats them all for consistency.

Never been to a muzzle loader shoot. Dressing up like the old trappers did never interested me. I just like hunting with the tools my ancestors used.

Keep thinking a small caliber flinter would be a lot of fun. Been hearing good things about Kibbler kits.

I've heard nothing but good to great about those Kibler guns. I have only handled a couple, and they are very nice in the hand. I am not sure how small he goes caliber wise. He does offer a smoothbore too.

Kibler's southern mountain rifle is available down to 32.

I've handled a couple of these, and they are light and slim, almost delicate. I think they'd be a joy to carry in the squirrel woods.
