Anybody can work carl.

The key to really getting ahead is avoiding unnecessary debt and putting ones money to work, the younger the better.

All you young people reading this, 50 to a hundred dollars in a week in an ira starting at 18 years of age will equate to a nice chunk of change at 60 65.

Compounding interest is boring, tedious and a bit slow to see the results but it works.

Who knew all it would take to be a millionaire is to work one or 2 nights at the kwik trip and put the proceeds in an IRA for 40 years.

Work an extra job for 2 days a week for 40 years and here’s your million bucks? Crappy advice!

It's either that or whine about it.

But I digress you are right in a sense it's either work more or increase one's skills making himself more valuable.

Increasing one's skills doesn't necessarily mean higher education

Nope whining about someone else who is brilliant, an extremely hard worker, and puts in vast amounts of time into their own and others endeavors is waaaaayyyy easier…. Just saying…

For those who think redistribution of wealth is a good idea, maybe we should try it with FHA. Regardless of what you send in we just split the sale proceeds equally. So, peelers check from all those high dollar cats would be the same as the guy with six coon and a possum. How long would it take before everyone is sending in one muskrat and we are all equally poor?
See how that works?

All of you that gave me your advice thoughts to little to late, when I grew up I dont believe there were student loans or Govment education loans, There were no IRAs that, I knew of in the 70s no Walmart no Lowes at that time. Was in my late 40s when 401 was offered, I spent 42 years under a welding helmet, My reward was to retire earlier than I could have because I had COPD and was advised to do so, I deal with what I have health wise cant enjoy doing some things I loved too,we dont get anything extra from S.S. being considered disabled I did my best and worked side jobs to give family and kids all I could, Sooooooooooo thanks for all your advice opinion and crap you all think on my views At 70 I am glad I wake up MY LAST WORDS!!!!!!!!!!

Federal student loans were available in 1958, well before your college years. IRAs were available to invest in starting 1975, which was throughout your entire working career. There are a few things I wish I had done differently early on, but no need to blame others...its on me. Hope your health gets better....
