Kind of on your high horse there Muskrat. I distinctly remember Paul posting on here that he calls them leg hold traps, just like his dad did, (unless he's changed over the years since posting that) because he targets beaver and that is exactly how he likes to catch them, and Paul has done more through this website and other ways for trapping than likely anyone else on here. I tend to call them footholds myself, but it's the way I talk I guess because I'm not and never will be PC. I fully believe there is no speech, PC or otherwise, that will effect the anti-trappers agenda. If they don't actually read it or see it for themselves, they will make it all up anyway.

No high horse intended, thought it was a fair question, still would like to hear the answer.

Nope, won’t change the mind of an anti, but that’s not the point. It’s the wide swath of voters who are generally indifferent - could help to get a few more votes on our side when it matters. Putting bravado aside, does it hurt to say foot instead of leg?

Who cares.

Not true at all, I could care less if I offended anyone. I say harvest because that’s what it is to me,as I have dominion over all the animals and can harvest any one I choose. Killing is a part of the harvest.

Allow me to preface my last comment…some time ago a fellow was appalled and offended at my callous use of the term harvest, and I am not sure why,but I concluded that hunting was more of a challenge to him than a mere harvest was to me, and I had trivialized his sacred hunt (expensive) with my “let’s getter done cheap “ attitude.

Off topic,my apologies…

So . . . just out of curiosity. . . how many times have you been to your state capitol to defend trapping?

Never. I don't go to Atlanta. I hope your curiosity is now satisfied.

Leg hold doesn't sound any worse than foot hold to me anyway?

And if you catch an animal slightly high, above the pad, then I'd call that more leg than foot anyway.
