Its a shrub and has a blue/purple flower. Highly sought after as a garden/ornamental/landscape plant. Unfortunately, when removed from the wild it will outgrow its wild dimensions and lose those shrublike tendencies. Nurserymen have tried for the last 30 years to find Lead Plants that retain their "dwarfness" but no one has yet. It has some soil building advantages too. Nice roadside plant here. .......................the mike
