Crypto and more directly Bitcoin isn't for a downturn is for a potential collapse of the monetary system.

That's how I also normally make investment decisions.

I agree bitcoin bc the petro dollar is on fire.

Did i post about how crypto is allowed to buy us debt now?

Yeah crypto is buying up us debt bc china stopped doing it. China is buying gold instead.

I various google stocks every day. Including at least 2 of the ones your AI chose. I think they ARE trying to sell them to you though. I mean come on.... CoPilot lists its parent company and ChatGPT lists it's company's largest "partner" for lack of a better word???

Your screenshot doesn't show which AI you used. Was it GOOGL's?

I just found it interesting that GOOGL's AI also included itself in the top 3 list, lol. I think there is some definite bias going on in the AI there.

Sounds more like your into speculation than investing.

How am I not into crypt? I stay in things I understand. Got lucky probably but have beat the market the last 3 years bt a few % points. Probably wont long term probably goint to start pivoting into more divided stocks and covered call etf's and less tec since its looking like im going to be medically retired 10 years before my planed early retirement. So my nest egg in much smaller and needs to last much longer than I had planed.

Sorry to hear that PF. Good luck to you. Yes, I'm gambling some. This post isn't traditional. Its supposed to be thought provoking for someone that maybe didn't know some of this was going on. Maybe Im down a rabbit hole though. Its hard for me to tell sometimes. (this was supposed to be an open discussion for someone to debate with to prove me wrong.)

It seems they need buyers of US debt and that those interest rates are going up.

"Yields on U.S. government debt (Treasuries) have been pushing upward due to concerns over high budget deficits, inflation pressures, and surging global debt supply. For example, the 10-year Treasury yield is hovering over 4.4%, and recent auctions of long-term notes and bonds have drawn higher rates as the market demands more yield to absorb the massive volume of new borrowing."

"If you bought a $300,000 20-year bond at a 5% annual growth rate with all interest compounding, your total amount would grow to $795,989.31 under annual compounding, or $805,519.15 if using the standard semiannual compounding frequency typical of U.S. Treasury bonds."

"If you buy U.S. government debt right now, you will earn interest rates ranging from roughly 3.7% to 5.1%, depending on the type of security and its maturity date. The current interest rates (yields) for standard marketable U.S. Treasury securities are:Treasury Bills (Short-Term): Yields range from about 3.7% to 4.2% for maturities spanning 1 month to 1 year.Treasury Notes (Medium-Term): Yields sit between 4.2% and 4.6% for 2-year to 10-year notes.Treasury Bonds (Long-Term): 20-year and 30-year bonds are paying approximately 5.0% to 5.1%."

At one time this was considered the safest investment. Hopefully it still is and hopefully a guaranteed 5% is enough to help you in some way.

Im sure you've talked to a professional. Don't listen to anything on here. This strategy involves losing money here and there not constant growth. Speculation is probably exactly what its called but I like to think of it as strategic speculation... I haven't lost enough to learn my lesson yet where you may be in a situation that doesn't allow you to absorb those blows. Hope everything works out for you.

EDIT: I GUESS US TREASURIES INTEREST DOES NOT COMPOUND.

The path you're on (gambling) should be reconsidered. You're a novice playing with grandmasters and you will lose.

Remind me if you are the guy thats a retired banker? Thats a serious question. That may have been someone else.

I can admit that I am gambling. Im watching my house money and my loses. Imagine a craps table that you can stand at where they spin the wheel, your number doesn't come up, but they don't take all your chips just partial of the stack and they let you keep whats left on the table for the next spin, if you keep it on the same number for the next spin. Or actually they let you move your chips too, to another number that if it doesn't come up they don't take all your chips over there either. You just can't pick a number thats going to go bankrupt. Imagine the craps table represents being diversified across all investments. If you could get a stack of chips on all the numbers and just stand there and watch them spin the wheel and stacks of chips getting taller and smaller while you stand there. Except a craps table is random. It seems "institutional money" kinda helps to shows you where to maybe double stack some chips... As far as the stock someone gave me grief about for watching a video and selling it... they literally let me lay a stack of chips on the craps table and reach down and say never mind in the middle of a spin and pull it back into my kitty.

Its a dirty casino and to everyone's point yes I am trying this knowing that some of the stacks are going to go down. I can take the loss as it happens, or let it ride, and I'm trying to pick good ones to let it ride on.

What if enough things have changed in the world in the last three years that everything everyone thinks they learned in investing in the last 50 years is now a little different? Crazy times it seems to me. Lots of things shooting up, lots of things falling down. Seems like a good opportunity for me to catch one going up in short term... or buying something that fell for long term. They aren't all going to be winners and its not for everyone.

I don't know just some random thoughts. I was trying to get people talking to help figure some of this out together. Not just poo poo it.
