Are those triggers available new anywhere? And are they for the 110 only?

How do the 155 and 160 do on incidental otter which I'm sure yall contend with as will I?

I caught a bunch of mink in 110's last year that was too big and were still alive.I'm upgrading to 160's this year and adding two dozen 1.5 coils for blind swts on the levees.

I think the belisle replacement triggers are more or less 4 way triggers.

On dry land my mink BGs are set low, my otter BGs are set higher, due to how an otter travels on dry land. I have found when using 155/160 for mink an otter will simply mow it over and keep going about his business. You think the mink are big down here, you need to see the size of some of these otters. I've seen some that have to grease their fat head to squeeze into a 220.

I started using all 160's with a light wire across the trigger. We have big mink here and they are alive in a 110. Everything is tidal water for me and sometimes with the wind I do not get a high tide or a low tide. Also we have a lot of otters and I have caught a few otters in the 160's and it puts them down quick. Not sure how they get that head in there sometimes.

I dont think its so much the size or strength of the trap that matters for a quick kill but where the strike lands. Some Mink are hard to kill without a perfect strike or unless they are in water.

I put the Minnesota brand combo trigger on about 90 Duke 160s, didn’t use the wires, but I needed the thicker gauge barrel assembly to which I affixed an L-shaped drowning lock and a wooden pan to that. The thicker gauge allowed for smacking that barrel slightly flat to lessen the depth that the dog would seat and still have it touch on each side of the barrel notch, which allows for minimal travel of the pan,which wasn’t possible with stock Duke triggers. All of the above is to facilitate an incredibly sensitive a hairy trigger to catch the smallest of nest predators.

If it won’t stay set after ten catches or so,just take a fence pliers and lengthen the barrel by squeezing the sides slightly as needed to seat the dog farther in. This all can be do in the field.

These traps are used in boxes.
