Got a chance to pick 1 up that's priced reasonable.anybody have one and if so whats the pros and cons in your opinion.ive read alot of the reviews on them seems some people like them the way they are and others do modifications to them. I've got a gas grill and a pellet smoker now just thinking of adding this to the group.i do like the charcoal/wood flavored meats.

Theres a difference between the original ones and the new ones. The older ones were build heavy duty and to last. The new ones are built much lighter. I have an older one. Works great when you are cooking or smoking a lot of food. Easy to control temp.

I have one but dont have a lot to compare it to beyong the road Webber and the vertical smokers. All I can say it it works. We cook with wood don't buy charcoal.

Those are wood burners, though I guess you can use charcoal...trick is to make enough fire to maintain the temp you want without damping it down and making dirty smoke, or let it get out of control and burning up your food... think smallish fires with a thin blue smoke, don't go loading it up....
