We are like family, no problem fighting among ourselves but those on the outside that get in the middle of it will be begging for mercy

It would be easy to post literal hundreds of videos, especially shorts, of pitbulls saving or helping people.

An ordinary person would look at and reasonably identify as a pit bull or pit-bull mix, roughly 15% to 20% of all dogs in the USA, around 14 to 18 million dogs nationwide. Logically, way beyond obviously, most pitbulls are not a problem. They just scare people.

I have no desire to own a pitbull. Logic tells me that even though pitbulls do some horrific attacks, less than a infinitesimal fraction of a percent of them harm people. There's a huge number of pitbulls. Most never do any harm. Sadly some do.

Seeing the damage done to a small child by a pitbull can mentally scar people for life. It makes them a greater worry than they need to be. There's much greater dangers to worry about including a race of people and a religion of people, that percentage wise are many thousands of times more likely to kill someone.

Don't worry, puberty will hit and you will get caught up with all the other guys in the locker room. I have to ask, are you required to wear a helmet when you ride public transportation?

I have nothing clever to put here.

It's fun to have a Saturday night fight type thread again. It's been too dull here lately.

We need some more, somewhat controversial topics.

Keith im not going to research numbers on this topic but i know insurance companies are all about the numbers and calculating risks and the fact that there are insurance company's that wouldn't insure a home for liability if they know theres a pitbull there is enough for me.

In the US, horses kill more than 3 times as many people as pitbulls most years and there's only about 1/3 as many horses as pitbulls. Should horses be banned too?

Deer kill roughly 28 times as many people as pitbulls in the US, in an average year and there are only roughly 52% more deer than pitbulls. Should we eradicate deer?

There's always going to be danger. Concentrating on it can rob people's happiness.

So let's let anyone own a pit. Freedom has rewards and consequences.

I am in favor of liberty for some things but when appropriate consequences are brought into the conversation, then things get "too extreme".

If you want to own one fine, just understand that consequences will be exactly reciprocal. Example.

If your pit mangles my child's arm to where it can't be used or amputated, then your child's arm is rendered useless and/or amputated. If you don't have children, then it will be your arm.

Some will wiggle at this but my child did nothing to deserve the effects of an irresponsible dog owner. Extreme responsibility carries extreme consequence.

Is that fair Rick? It allows for ownership and gives consequences if you are not responsible enough to take care of a dangerous breed of dog. Only issue is then that will be a new law.

What does liberty cost a person/citizen? To have no laws is anarchy and that is Wild West. Not sure I want to live that way.

How many lies will people believe before they realize their own idiocy?

If you had a real purpose to own them for say hog hunting then go through a regulatory process to own them.

The idea you presented by comparing regulating pitbulls to gun rights is pretty broad if you start getting into the logic behind it. Id be surprised if you didnt think it was alright for the government to regulate something which would make your simple logic of directly comparing gun rights to regulating pitbull ownership look a bit ignorant from my point of view.

Your right I'm just a simpleton that can't differentiate the two . You are just to intelligent for my simple mind to comprehend

Too intelligent.

So,

You’re right.

In my mind the big difference is the unprovoked attack thing.
Most fatal horse and deer accidents the animals had no intent of harm

bowhunter there are consequences if a dog attacks a child , whether it is a pit or any other breed . I never said anything about having no laws , I said I don't believe the government should be able to dictate what type of dog you own . I don't know if I'm fully understanding your statement
