So a few years back I figured I would try this heavily advertised brand, especially since they were readily available through Lowe's. My main use was to be running a earth auger bit on the trapline. I still have my older home cheapo ryobi for beater tools for regular drilling or cutting.

Fast forward, I've gotten good service from the one drill I bought though quite heavy it has spun heavy three inch augers until the blades wore down. The circular saw is a whole magnitude upgrade step from the ryobi. Almost an equal to a corded saw in strength.

Only issue has been the batteries. The big 5.0 one cooked itself and the 2.5 is dead when on the tool full charge when put on the charger. I'm down to a 2.0 and just discovered Lowe's discontinued the entire brand without any local brick and mortar support. The brand is still out there, just on line only.

I was seriously considering adding a rotary hammer drill for driving earth anchors, ground rods, t posts, etc but looks like I need to consider other brands.

Milwaukee or Dewalt.

Sorry, no can do on yellow. I have a deep seated hatred of dewalt left over from my days framing houses. I ran crews from the saw cutting and laying out ahead of them and a saw that can't hold up or is piece of garbage is found out quick and dewalt was always the fastest to go out of square if not just completely break. Makita was my saw of choice with milwaukee the too heavy next option. Unfortunately the last makita I bought a few years back was a useless paperweight copy of an actual functional makita.

Don't know who actually makes them but the Harbor Freight house brand has given me yeoman service for a number of years now. The Battery's seem to last forever, and hold the charge just sitting.

I agree with you on Makita going downhill. We used them at work for years. They were virtually indestructible.
The last one I bought the quality wasn't there anymore. Ive switched to Milwaukee. I just wish the chucks were better in their hammer drills. I have worn two out with hard use and abuse though.

FLEX tools.are good.tools. Surprised they haven't been more popular. Lack of good advertising I guess.
