also you said how u can ship straight to that auction...is the one you are talking about the fur harvesters auction because it says on there website that you cant ship directly for us sellers? or am i just not understanding correctly?

FHA has agents in the states some of them run pick up routes.If not you can call the agent and he will set you up with an account and tell you how to get your fur to him.
As far as storing dried skins,if they have been well scraped with no grease in the skin and kept away from bugs in the summer and mice and other vermin dried skins can keep for two or more years and still tan up without problems.

Yes, in the US we can't ship directly to North Bay (Furharvesters) but if you contact them they have US agents that you can ship to (or they run routes where you can meet them and drop off your fur instead of shipping) and they will then take the fur across the international border.

Talking as a new trapper ( this will be my 4th season, I'm 16) You want to learn how to put up fur and put it up well. If you can get some feedback from somebody actually handling your fur, that is invaluable. I sold my fur last year at the OSTA auction, and it was so helpful to get the tips I need from the people actually grading my fur. It takes some effort, but it is very rewarding to take a bale of pelts to an auction. (Or box them up and ship them to Canada. That's what I'll be doing with any mink I catch this year.)
