The more you put yourself in the spot light the more people talk about you. I know a few great coyote trappers that no one talks about mostly because they dont talk about themselves and not everyone knows how good they are.

I thought at first we were gonna get a full blown Goodfellas monologue out of the Kidd.

Never was an O'Gorman student but I know several trappers that are, to a man they tell me the most important thing they learned was trap line management and all the things that go into it. The sets are the easy part, everything else not so much. He really gets his students motivated.

He has always called for more professionalism in the industry and that is not a bad thing in my opinion.

He is a student of trapping history and has gone to great lengths to give credit to trappers who helped him and influenced his methods. For a few years he had a Hall of Fame in his catalog to recognize trappers that may have been overlooked or forgotten as time passed.

He has made a living in a brutal industry and did it his way. He has name recognition on par with Carman or Hawbaker.

He just loves to trap, found that out at a young age and was able to build a career around it.

One last thing, some people trap because they love it, and some trap to become a "legend", or want people to "like" them on social media. O'Gorman traps because he loves it. If you are trapping to impress other trappers, it usually does not end well or with a great deal of success.

I certainly respect his accomplishments over a lifetime career.
