Keith, you know you could have gotten that diesel from us for a mere 4% increase in what you already get from us. However, some handlers (let’s not pretend this isn’t about wealth for some) have decided Canada is now the enemy. Now we’ve got the puppets (nutlick, Greer etc) along with the big guy going all in on a trade war with your biggest supplier of raw resources. Heck just yesterday Trump stood on there at a rally in Alaska badmouthing Canada, the same country that spends 100 plus million a year ensuring the hiway allows Americans to travel to the lower 48 and back with ease. 80% of its traffic is just that. I say make it a toll hiway now. But instead of continued good fortune for both now we’ve got animosity between countries that used to scratch each other’s backs in many ways.

Unlike you I actually can’t see the USA buying a few hours worth of diesel from Russia to be a good move, ethically or politically, but also realize my thoughts mean nothing.

Russia is the Devil and so is China.China weapons is the only reason Iran has held out so long.

I think Canada will have to cave in to most of President Trump's demands. I also strongly believe he is intentionally trying to weaken Canada's liberal government, so that you hopefully get a conservative government. A strong, Canada, with a conservative government, that meets it's defense obligations and stops third world immigration and environment damaging Indian immigration would be good for the US.

Canada has sucked with defence, I’ll give you that. However, we’re currently above the 2% gdp benchmark for NATO so in reality, the current liberals under current leader have met exactly what you say the conservatives would do. Our last conservative government didn’t meet them so there’s that when assuming conservatives would.

Also, I actually don’t think there will be caving, time will tell though.
