It’s that time again. Having moved 17 times in the last 30 years, I’ve been through so many fleshing systems, I’m going to make one last (hopefully) fleshing beam base.

You guys have any good ideas and photos to share? I’ve used wall mounted and have a system for that but too often I need to travel with one or bring it to a friend’s house. Like to have a wooden base that folds or breaks down for travel. Got a pretty simple idea I’ve used plenty in the past but I don’t want to reinvent the wheel.

Montana weather is doing Montana things and I’m getting antsy. Lol.

I just acquired a new to me one, with a hinge and angle iron to attach to a wall…it’s going in my enclosed trailer and setting inside it now. Will take a photo when I get there. They seem popular.

I put mine on a plank to stand on to steady it when using it, and with hinges so it will fold up to travel down to my cabin.
I also anchored a 2nd one to pole in the barn for home use.

Not sure who makes these, has an adjustable leg , hinge mounts to the wall, never been used and I picked it up second hand.

MTP sells them.

I got back into trapping with the idea of not making any money and so far have been quite successful.

I built one out of thick wall pvc pipe and used square tubing to support it. The square tubing in the picture is bolted to the under side of the beam and goes into the next size larger tubing that's mounted to the wall. The receptacle had a 3/8 bolt and nut with a piece of rebar welded across the top of the bolt to tighten it down. I glued a narrow strip of the pipe wall down the center of the under side to stiffen it a bit. It works pretty good.

That's the under side gluing the strip down the center. The square tubing is the piece I bolted to the bottom and goes into the receiver on the wall.

Trail cameras and fresh snow have broke a lot of trapper’s hearts.

John,

Only used for coyotes, but could be used for anything big enough to fit. I do my fleshing in my basement so no coons or skunks.

It's bunge'ed to the post. I can remove any time I want. Upright is set to the height I like, could be made adjustable.

Maybe this will give you some more ideas.

Hahaha. This is my exact setup. Like exactly (just a different colored beam)

If traps work like the Antis say......I would have no fingers.
