also how far have you shot that 45 ? what does it look like for groups and drop at distance

the round can make a big difference on 45lc you need to be pushing the upper limits of +P to get the 100-125 yard performance

if you are running standard pressure cartridges with 225gr bullets it is going to start falling apart around 70 yards as it falls sub sonic.

this is why when I am asked 45lc or 44mag I always say 44mag and people will fight me saying 45lc can do more , well sure it can if you are a handloader making special rounds you then should not ever put in your pistol. so how do you mark them carbine only

with 44mag you can run an off the shelf 240gr xtp 0.185bc from a carbine about 1600fps is a lot flatter to 100 and only loses 2.5 inches by 125yards from 100
and the same round can go in your pistol without danger.

if you are a handloader making custom stuff sure feel free to go 45lc , but if the goal is trajectory and ammo compatibility between handgun and carbine 44mag makes a lot more sense.
