Mink, beaver, otter. Anyone with solid experience used this set much?? Thoughts on trigger placement, specifically “trigger pointed down or triggers pointed up”? Look forward to the discussion.

Bottom edge for mink i prefer the trigger on the top.
Only reason for me is I don't want debris to gag up the trigger if placed on the bottom. Mostly sand and stones filling in and impeding firing.

Pointed from top down or from the side. Trigger wires usually spread about 11/2 inches. Use middle notch on dog most of the time. Each season i catch a few incidental fish that are 6 to 10 inches long so I dont worry about a swimming mink not triggering the trap. I use 110 and 150 size bodygrips for mink and rats.

Bottom edge triggers regular V from top and centered. A swimming mink has a lot more movement and will fire that trap and even hip caught mink will be dispatched pretty quick in bottom edge sets
