Morning T-Man,

I caught this neat coyote yesterday and am still waiting for the folks at OSU to call me about the study. It was GPS collared with 2 ear tags and the collar seems to be a part of the Ohio State University study.

Interesting. Let us know what you find out about the tag.

Man youd have thought the thermal killers would have smoked it long before a trapper got it! Ya know, since they're so hard on them. wink

Nice catch!

Be real interesting to hear its story. How old do you think it is?

Nice catch! I'd be interested in hearing the rest of the story, too.

Anxiously awaiting the folks who own the collar to call me back! I am also a thermal hunter and would definitely not be shooting at this one being she had a collar on haha. I can’t wait to see where it went, how far, where it spent time, etc!

Cool catch. I'm sure they will be happy to know where it turned up. I worked on a collar study right after college, and since the collars only gave data for so long, we depended on mortality(and someone to call it in) to give the final data point for how long it lived and how far it went.

I have called 3 times and sent an email, even called the main PhD's office at the school. No one has responded yet I hope they still have someone working on the project

She's about 1.5, traveled 140 miles (the way the crow flies, way more in loops), and I am getting the study this weekend!

That's a lot of miles. Keep us posted on the study.

I got a collared coyote on a trail cam this summer. Something I never heard of in Nevada.

If traps work like the Antis say......I would have no fingers.
